NOTICE OF CONTINUED SPECIAL MEETING
TO CONSIDER A REQUEST FROM ROBERT W. AND BARBARA L. BARRON
TO OPERATE A RACING PARK
A continued hearing on the request to operate a racing park submitted by Robert W. Barron, Barbara L. Barron, Mitch Barron, Wesley Barron and Tucker Barron shall come on to be heard at the regular Escanaba Township Board meeting to be held Monday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Escanaba Township Hall, 4618 County 416 J Road, Gladstone MI 49837.
The request is for a permit to operate a racing park under the Township’s “Ordinance to Regulate Certain Permanent and Temporary Events and Activities that have Negative impacts; to provide penalties for the violation of this Ordinance and Related Matters.” Ordinance No. 2012-9-118.

The proposed site of the racing park is properly zoned for winter sports facilities.
The legal description of the parcel for which a permit is requested is the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ R 40 N.R. 22 W.

A copy of the “Ordinance to Regulate Certain Permanent and Temporary Events and Activities that have negative impacts to provide penalties for the violation of this Ordinance and Related Matters”, (Hereinafter, “the Ordinance”) Ordinance No. 2012-9-118, can be purchased inspected ore reviewed by contacting the Escanaba Township Clerk at (906) 786-6200. The purpose of the special meeting is to consider the request for the permit to make specific finding regarding whether certain minimal standards are or will be met (Sect 5.1 of the Ordinance): to make specific finding and determine whether certain specific standards are or will be met (Section 5.1 (d) of the Ordinance), and to consider what, if any, reasonable conditions should be attached to any permit granted (Section 5.1 (e) of Ordinance).
Public comments are welcome. In addition, written comments will be accepted by the Township Board up until the close of the public hearing.
THE MEETING IS OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC UNDER MICHIGANS OPEN MEETING ACT.
